NHS Health Visiting & School Nursing - Click here

The Health Visiting and School Nursing teams are there to support parents, carers and young people to be healthy. They provide advice and support right through from pregnancy up until a child is 19. All families are offered a number of routine contacts, plus extra visits where needed.

If you have concerns about your school age child you can speak to a School Nurse by either telephone or by attending a local drop-in session. Call your local hub (see below for details) or visit their drop in schedule (ages 5-19) in Staffordshire. Your School nurse can provide advice and support on issues including:

  • Emotional health and wellbeing
  • Continence issues; e.g. soiling and enuresis
  • Developmental concerns
  • Advice, information and signposting to sexual health and contraception services
