SEND (Special Educational Needs)
Welcome to the Bursley Academy SEND information page.
Bursley Academy is an inclusive, nurturing school and we strive to support all children to enable them to achieve at school their full potential as we guide them through their learning journey. Adaptive teaching is vital; however, for some children there are occasions when further additional support may be needed to help them achieve their learning goals. We have high expectations of all our children and do whatever we can to support the children to achieve their goals.
These pages set out information about our provision for children and young people with special educational needs (SEN).
The SEND Team consists of:
Mrs A Green (SENDCo)
Miss R Finney (SENDCo)
Mrs Green and Miss Finney are both responsible for overseeing the management of educational provision and progress of those children across the school identified as having a Special Educational Need or Disability. However, the day to day running of individual needs and paperwork will be completed by the pupils ‘SEND case worker’ and their class teacher.
Our governor with responsibility for SEND is Mrs Rosemarie Patrick
It is our aim at Bursley Academy to be as fully inclusive as possible for children with a variety of learning and developmental needs as well as physical disabilities. If you wish to book an appointment with Mrs Green or Miss Finney, please contact the school office or the above email.
